I heard you guys were thinking of trying for a tot. That’s excellent news! I heard of some great ways to increase your fertility naturally to give you the best chance of getting pregnant without outside help. If you need fertility treatment it is more likely to work if your body is in good condition. Here goes:
· Learn how to know when you are most fertile. Obviously if you are aware of when you’re fertile, then you know when the best time is to have sex and your probabilities of getting pregnant pick up. You’ll also get better at knowing when to anticipate ‘that time of the month’ – which will help you to note when you’re behind schedule! In general you can check when you ovulate by measuring your temperature the moment you wake up in the morning. Make a note of these numbers on a graph and you should notice that your waking temperature (also called your basal body temperature) goes up around the time of ovulation. As unpleasant as it sounds you can also test your cervical mucus because it looks and feels like egg white when you are ovulating – this makes it easier for the spermies to reach the egg.
· Have lots of sexual intercourse.
· Assume the position. Different sexual positions allow for differing levels of penetration and so certain positions are especially good for getting pregnant. When you’re trying for a baby you should stay away from positions where you are sitting or standing, because gravity will be working against you. Use positions that allow the deepest penetration for best results; finding them is half the fun! Apparently holding your legs in the air with your hips on a pillow for a little while afterward also helps – but you can make a decision on that one for yourself!
· Prenatal vitamins are important. Vitamins will give your body what it needs to optimize your baby making equipment. Vitamins will also help to prevent birth defects and other problems when you do eventually conceive so you’ll be giving your little one the best start in life.
· Have more sex.
· Eat healthy foods. You should aim to keep your weight in check when you’re trying to get pregnant. Being overweight or too lean can affect your fertility badly so aim for a healthy weight for your height. Find a healthy diet and stick to it.
· Have even more sexual intercourse.
· Exercise. People don’t realize what a strain it can be for your body to grow and carry that little one for 40 weeks. It’s best to get into shape beforehand. Just don’t exercise too much because then your body might stop ovulating.
· Stay away from toxins. That includes giving up alcohol, caffeine and smoking which are all proven to affect fertility negatively. It’s also good training for when you do conceive! Check with your doctor on the safety of any other medication you are taking.
· Stay away from briefs. Guys, tight undies can reduce your sperm count or damage your sperm because it just gets too warm down there. Heat damages sperm so make certain you take frequent breaks if you sit at a desk all day.
· Relax! Fertility can be negatively influenced by stress for a couple of reasons. Try to keep the stress levels low.
It surely won’t do any harm to test some of these ways to increase your fertility naturally. These tips should help you conceive naturally but if you don’t they will surely prepare you for a healthy pregnancy, a healthy baby and a healthier you!
