Going On A Cruise Alone

Monday, May 31st, 2010

Many people like to go on a holiday every year. Some go on holiday with their family and some go with their friends. Whether it is luxury cruises tour or bag packing tour to Europe and Asia. There are some people who like to travel by themselves.

I like to enjoy things in my own time and I won’t have too many responsibilities travelling alone than travelling with my family. When you are travelling with families you have certain rules and regulations that you need to follow especially if you are a husband and a father. When you are alone and single you can do whatever you want, guys you know what I mean, but with family there are restrictions then you need think about before doing anything. That doesn’t mean doing something stupid or anything illegal.

What I mean by free is you don’t have to worry about booking a hotel if you are bag packing, you can easily camp out or live in a hotel. Whereas if you have a family you will have to pre plan your stay before you head out. Last year I went on a silversea cruises to Caribbean and I didn’t have to worry about the hotels because I just went with the flow and camped out with the Jamaicans. It was a great experience.

Before I settle down with my girlfriend, my plan is to go on a trip to South East Asia. I will be travelling alone as this is will be a great opportunity for me to learn about different cultures and also learn a lot about myself and others. I am also planning to do some volunteer work in India and Nepal for a children’s charity. After that I can go back to my royal Caribbean cruises and enjoy the Bahamas with my lovely fiance.

Online Poker IS Disliked By Many People

Monday, May 31st, 2010

There are many people out there who still do not like Internet gambling. People feel that online poker makes people addictive towards gambling and also ruins many people’s lives. Gambling is also not allowed within few religions. It is strictly against Islamic religion and some religions inside Hinduism.

Some parents regardless to the religion just do not allow any sort of gambling in their house. They feel that gambling makes people addictive and it is a waste of money. I do agree with this but to be honest it also depends on the person if they can restrict themselves from being an addict or not. In my personal opinion online poker also helps in sharpening the mental senses and also introduces to different culture – cultural awareness. Though I feel online poker and online gambling are completely two different things.

I have seen people being addictive to online gambling and wasting their money but I have also seen people who have improved their mental senses by playing online poker. When I was young my parents banned online gambling in our house because they thought I will not concentrate in my studies. When I was 14 I got caught playing betfair poker online by my mother and trust me it was not a good chat. To be completely honest I would probably ban gambling in my house when I have kids just to make sure study comes first.

To be honest I still didn’t stop playing even after then but I didn’t get addicted to it and now I can say it has definitely improved my mental sharpness. These days I still enjoy few games of rakeback deals poker but not often and certainly am not addicted to it. I can more than happily live without any gambling in my life. It definitely depends on how strong the person is and if they can stop getting addicted to it.

Getting The Business Up And Running

Monday, May 31st, 2010

Starting up a brand new business up from scratch is not an easy thing to do by any means at all so here are just a few tips that could perhaps help you out a little bit.

Get Noticed

If a new company is something you are starting then you really cannot expect to get customers if no one actually knows you are even going to be opening? Something that is very important to businesses is brand awareness and you really do need to look into opening up the advertising way before you think about opening up the business to everyone.

You can use direct mail services and other such things so actually send leaflets round to people. Put something big and bold above the building so that customers will be attracted to the place. This encourages people to take a look at it so make it as unique and as colourful as possible.

Appeal To A New Audience

If you are a company that is going to be opening up and you have nothing unique to offer people then do you really expect customers to start coming through the door. If you have serviced offices Sohoor office to rent you need to make them stand out above the rest. Thinking of a USP (unique selling point) is crucial to succeeding in the business world so make sure you have this.

Friendly

You always need to make sure you are being friendly to the customer as if you are not you will not have any. Make sure that for the first couple of weeks you have a special offer running on your products as this will get people through the doors instantly.

So there you have it really, just a few tips on opening up a business for the very first time, there are many other things you must do too.

Accessories For A Dinner Party

Monday, May 31st, 2010

Are you looking to host a dinner party? Are you struggling to make the choice of who to invite and what tableware you need and require for your dinner party? Who to invite and which venue to choose? Shall I host the dinner part in my own house or outside the house? All of the questions above will certainly be in your mind. You will definitely need to make time, sit down and think about all these things.

Few example of things you need when you are hosting a dinner party are as follows:

Dinnerware is absolutely vital. It is essential for you to have good dinnerware and it needs to be off the same set. If you are inviting about 20 people and you only have 15 dinnerware sets then it doesn’t look good. If not then people will certainly talk because that is how we are, we like to gossip.

Shot glasses are very important too. Make sure you have the same number of shot glasses as the number of people you are planning to invite. Drinks are essential in hosting any sort of party before or after the meal. If you want the party to hot up you have got to provide some shots of alcohol. Even if it’s a quiet dinner party you are hosting this is still very essential to have – I am not saying get drunk just get the atmosphere up by one or two shots of alcohol.

You will also definitely buy few bottles of wine and you have to make sure you have corkscrews and if you do have any bottle openers then that’s when the buck stops. Just make sure you buy few bottle openers when you buy wines and beers if not then you will definitely have a massive problem hosting the party haha.

There are few other things to keep in consideration such as napkins, cutleries, kitchen accessories, beer and wine glasses and don’t forget the music. After few drinks people would love to dance so don’t forget to get some funky music. All the other obvious things I am sure you already know.

“Staying Together – Through Thick And Thin”

Monday, May 31st, 2010

Where do you usually hear these lines, "Through Thick and Thin"? Where? As for myself, I always hear this during weddings in the church, beach, garden, and mountain. And usually those who are in love say these lines. It is good to hear, even if you listen to it a million times. What does through thick ad thin means? It is a vow that ties you to continue loving each other no matter what will happen. It is the connection that you will have no matter what. It is maintaining the feelings since you first say I love you.

And also these lines are also famous "Till Death Do Us Apart". If you hear this, it may sound scary because it talks about death. How can you prolong the relationship? It is by staying the same. Having time for each other even if you are tired. Create more intimacy between you and your partner. Take care of each other. Somewhat like you were you were taking care of a new born baby. Very delicate.

Having a partner for life needs a lot of effort. You need to give your all. And by that you need to stay fit and healthy. You do not want your partner to suffer taking care of you; you need to be responsible for your own self when it comes to health.

You should support each other and even be willing to tell the other they have halitosis.  You can direct them to a product like essential oramd or send them to check out oral irrigators.

Take vitamins, as doctors said "Prevention is better that cure". That is so true; prevent bad diseases by having an exercise everyday, take multivitamins, and if possible to be cheaper try herbal medicines. Live healthy so that your promise to stay thick and thin will never encounter any problem. And the promise till death do us part will happen in the time when your hair is gray, when aging of your face and skin is observable, and when you are having an arthritis a sign of aging.

It so pleasant to hear that you will be growing old with your partner with your grand sons and daughters playing in your courtyard. Life is just a matter of choice. You just have to choose to be healthy and be wise.

Choosing Between Cruising And Trekking Holidays

Monday, May 31st, 2010

There are various holiday options for you to choose from cruise to a glamorous journey to an exotic destination or may be trekking the Himalayas. People are always looking for a holiday in a monthly basis, some look for cheap deals, some look for weekend away and some look to go visit their family and friends in a different country. As there are so many options it is definitely hard for us to choose the right holiday.

This article will be based around the two holiday prospects, one is a trekking holiday to the Himalayas and another the cruising ship to the Bahamas in stunning princess cruises. Already you are thinking, what a tough choice this is. You are thinking shall I and view the Himalayas in countries like Nepal and New Zealand, where I can not only enjoy the mountain view but also the white river rafting experience or shall I choose a glamorous cruising holiday to the Bahamas or the Caribbean.

To be honest these two holiday options should definitely be on your top 10 destinations for a holiday. Nepal has been attracting tourists for last 40 years due to its Himalayas and white rivers. Trekking and White River rafting are the two most common reasons why people choose to go to Nepal. From my experience the hospitality is also one of the best in the World as I have travelled to over 60 countries. Most people who have heard about Momo a traditional Nepalese food travel all the way to Nepal just to try the food. Momo shops are located in every street so you won’t have to use your Iphone or use Google map to find one near you. The Caribbean Islands have attracted millions and millions of people from different parts of the World. Caribbean Islands hosts one of the most exotic beaches around the World and the weather is always fantastic there. There are some amazing islands like St. Lucia & Saint. Vincent where you will be able to spend a weekend away with peace and quiet with your family. Oh and how can we forget the Caribbean rum? Chilling under the beautiful sun in a stunning Royal Caribbean International Cruises and sipping on a beautiful Caribbean rum sounds just too good to miss out on for me.

Local Curry Restaurant Replaces Their Furniture More Often Than Their Menu

Monday, May 31st, 2010

With all of us having such busy schedules it is important to try and ensure that you still spend time with the family.

In our home it’s important to me that we all endeavour to sit down to a family dinner.   It gives us time to catch up on what has been happening during the day and enjoy a bit of family time.

With the children all but grown up now this isn’t always possible as they always seem to be out with either their partners or friends.

Regardless of what’s happening though, Friday night is family night and we always make sure we are all available.

Sometimes I make the effort to cook, but more often than not I will convince everybody to take a stroll down to our local Indian Restaurant. It’s only a short 5 minute stroll away so we can all relax and enjoy a drink with our meal then take a nice leisurely walk home at the end of the evening.

We have been visiting the same restaurant for over 5 years and I will admit they have had a few refurbishments in that time.

When we first started going there they had a lot of worn out looking pub furniture.  This was soon replaced and in came the café furniture phase. This was a vast improvement, but in my humble opinion it still wasn’t quite the correct look for an Indian Restaurant.

Within about 6 months another refurbishment followed and out went the old and in came the beautiful contemporary furniture.

I absolutely love this look and it has given the whole restaurant a whole new lease of life.

They are always trying out new ideas and recently they have introduced a fantastic buffet area.

It’s fantastic because there is always a never ending supply of popodams and all the pickles that go with them and on top of that there are about 20 different dishes you can enjoy.

It is good because you get a chance to try different dishes that you wouldn’t normally order and if you don’t like it, then it doesn’t matter you just try something else.

Well all this writing about food has made me hungry and even though it’s only Tuesday I might just have to suggest to the family that we have a curry tonight as I can already taste my prawn biryani!!

7 Reasons To Start An Organic Garden

Monday, May 31st, 2010

Amongst global warming and the lack of government regulations concerning our food supply the responsiveness of learning about how to grow organic vegetables is ever-rising.

Organic gardening is the way of growing vegetables and fruits with the use of things only found in nature. Eco-gardening is a great method to employ when starting an organic vegetable garden. It produces more vegetables in a smaller area and is far less labor intensive. With the right vegetable garden layout and companion planting strategies, today’s gardener can have a booming garden in about 8 hours of work per year.

Why Eco-Gardening?

1. Composting is easy when you use your backyard waste and kitchen refuse. Though organic gardening composting is a bit more time-consuming than buying prepared chemical pesticides and fertilizers, it undoubtedly helps to put garbage to full use and so saves the surroundings.

2. Organic husbandry does not use chemicals that may have an adverse affect on your health. When growing vegetables, this is specially important. Pesticides on our fruits and vegetables are poisonous and should be avoided whenever possible particularly in children.

On average, children ingest four to five times the amount of cancer-causing pesticides from food than adults. This can lead to numerous diseases later on in the child’s lifetime. Organic gardening helps to reduce these risks.

The only application of pesticides is to kill living things.

3. With organic gardening there is less harm to the environment. Gardens that use pesticides regularly wash into our waterways, killing native fish and their habitat.

4. Organic gardening helps prevent erosion of topsoil.

Every year an approximate 30 to 32 billion tons of soil erodes from US farmlands alone, according to the Soil Conservation Service.

5. Saves money. There is no need to buy high prices chemical fertilizers and pesticides when you garden with organic techniques. Many organic recipes for the control of pest and disease come completely from the kitchen cupboard. Companion planting can also aid in pest control  naturally. Like planting marigolds with other vegetables to help repel aphids.

Mixing 1 tablespoon of liquid dishwashing soap and 1 cup of cooking oil can make a economical garden pest spray. Put 3 tablespoons of this mixture in 1 quart of water and spray on plants.

6. A mulch of compost or pine needles can help prevent weeds and keep soil damp.

7. By following organic gardening practices, you help keep the environment nontoxic for future generations.

How To Make Snails And Slugs Run The Other Way

Monday, May 31st, 2010

Snails and slugs can bring the strongest gardeners to their knees.. Wherever a climate is damp there will be a problem with these critters. In desert type climates such as New Mexico and parts of Arizona, snails will come out early, when there is moisture on the plants.

Your vegetables and flowers can be beautiful and healthy but let the snails discover them and suddenly your garden is full of sad plants with holes in their leaves. Those little fat crawlers come out when you least expect them. Snails let other snails know where to find food. All they have to do is leave a slime trail for their friends to follow..

Tracking down the snails is a thankless task. They are in hiding, making thousands of equally homely babies. This is a regular occurance, hundreds of times. As soon as they hatch, they start eating. No one has to teach them! It takes no time for them to become full grown and lay their own eggs.

Tiny clusters of snail eggs are just daring you to find them.. Quick! Keep a salt shaker handy and pour some on those ugly little white balls. They will be destroyed before they hatch.

Snails grow larger as they eat. They live for several years and never stop growing as they eat. They will eat and grow, eat and grow. Stop them now.

Gardening in a hobby greenhouse your vegetables and flowers will be somewhat protected. If you’re thinking of buying a deck greenhouse you will fine fewer instances of the ugly creatures.

Slithering in when your back is turned, they will lay their nasty eggs inside your greenhouse.Wherever you see that shiny trail, follow! Moisture collects in corners, under leaves, under the bench. This is where they will hide out.

After you find them, there are several things you can do.

Oat bran does not do well in their digestive tract and will kill them when they eat it.

Snails and slugs will die when they crawl across the sharp edges of Broken Eggshells.

Snails are beer lovers. If you place small bowls of beer strategically around your greenhouse, they will fall right in and drown.

There are many fragrant herbs that are a deterrent to snails. Grow them in abundance in your greenhouse to keep the snails and slugs at bay. Lavender, lemon balm, mint, rosemary and thyme will all help deter the snails.

Be vigilant and you won’t have to ever use commercial herbicides. In the confines of a greenhouse, herbs will usually do the trick. Sometimes the infestation is severe. In that case, pull out all stops and use all the solutions at your disposal, including a sledge hammer. You’re smarter than they are. You don’t have to resort to poison.

If all else fails, buy a garden greenhouse and perhaps buy a duck or two. Hedgehogs and ducks love tasty snail meat.

Helping A Child Deal With Anxiety

Monday, May 31st, 2010

No parent wishes anxiety and fear on a child, but dealing with anxiety appropriately is part of growing up. Too often, we see people suffering as adults because they never learned how to handle anxiety as a child. That’s why appropriate child anxiety treatment is crucial.

Kids have difficulty handling their emotions and frequently will act out their emotions. Exactly how it gets acted out varies from child to child. Under stress, one child might become aggressive while another becomes depressed and a third looks to their parents for approval.

As adults, everyone has to manage with some degree of anxiety. Learning to manage it successfully as part of the maturing process. If you think your child has behavior triggered by anxiety, part of your job as a parent is to coach them on how they can handle anxiety appropriately without acting out or suppressing their emotions. It’s an important job. Here’s a technique many parents find it useful.

Children experience emotions without being able to put a name on them. The word “anxiety” doesn’t have much meaning for them as an abstract idea. However, from infancy all kids become expert at identifying facial expressions and their probable emotional associations. Because of this, you can use pictures in a book or magazine to help young children become more expert at dealing with emotions.

For example, you can collect pictures of happy children, then sit with your child and ask questions such as “How do you think that boy feels?”, “Why do you think he’s feeling like that?” “What do you think he’s thinking?.”  You can also have fun with your child making up stories about what’s wonderful about the lives of the happy children in the pictures.

Next, you can look at pictures of children that appear anxious and ask questions about them. If you ask your child why the child in the picture looks worried it’s possible that they may answer with something they’re afraid of. Even if they don’t, you can ask a follow up question about what might help the child or how they could deal with their the problem causing the fear. You can use the discussion as a way to suggest possible solutions for your child to consider. Perhaps you could say something like “Well if I was that boy and I was worried about being left alone, I think I talk to mom and dad about it.”

Part of what you want to do with this exercise is both the children realize that it’s normal to experience a range of emotions in life and that there are helpful ways of dealing with them available to them.

You can find a lot of other ideas about helping kids with anxiety at Childhood Anxiety Disorder Help, which is a site dedicated to helping parents help their kids. You may also want to look at an excellent program called the Anxiety Free Child. With the help of their program, you can coach your child on how to reclaim their joy.
